Explore the Human Body

We love to read!

As we’re finishing up the Big Book of Why and our ritual of reading two pages every night, we have decided to dive into our next book a little early.

Explore the Human Body by Luann Colombo is educational, interesting, and well-made. The  3-D human body visual is perfect for referencing each of the major systems discussed throughout the book. The language is easy to follow, even for kids younger than 8 years old (listed range). V is 4.5 years old and he was able to understand a majority of it. There were a few words he was unsure of, but it was a great learning opportunity to add onto his budding vocabulary.

There is quite a bit of information in this book, so V and I decided it was best we learn only one system each night (1-2 pages). More than that would be information overload, and that too, right before bedtime.

I’m having fun getting refreshed on human anatomy along with my little munchkin. Oh, how I have always loved this subject. If you want to know more about my career choices and why I did not end up in the field of medicine, you can peruse through my musings on Elephant Journal.

Anyway, I picked up our copy from Costco back in December (grabbed the last copy!), however, it looks like it is available for pre-order on Amazon.com. You can secure your copy at the link below:
